Magic Resorts seek help for their hurricane-stricken employees

On December 16, a Category 5 typhoon struck the Philippines with wind speeds of up to 175 mph. Passing over Cebu and Bohol, the storm caused massive damage.

The number of casualties is not known but could run into the hundreds. Thousands of electricity poles are down and many houses are damaged or destroyed. Drinking water is among the most immediate problems. It will take months to get electricity and other infrastructure repaired.

Both Magic Resorts, the site of our December 2022 trip, were also hit. Fortunately, the damage can easily be repaired. The good news is that all Magic’s employees are well. Unfortunately, many sustained severe damage to or even lost their homes.

After enduring two difficult years with COVID, many employees and their families have lost faith and are desperate. Magic Resorts is asking for your financial support to help their staff rebuild their homes, their lives and their country.
