Panama City Wreck Diving

September 2-3, 2023 (Labor Day Weekend)

Over the years, Panama City has become synonymous with wreck diving. The waters off this Florida Panhandle beach town are littered with the remains of freighters, warships, tugs, barges, OSVs — virtually any sort of vessel imaginable. And, with wrecks, comes the inevitable boom in marine life: fish, lobsters and other crustaceans, and coral. These vessels are now ablaze with color, hosting life where there once was none.

The destination

Panama City is roughly five hours from New Orleans. Our base of operations is Panama City Dive Center. PCDC has been serving the needs of divers throughout the Gulf region for decades and has been our go-to dive center for years. Yet another feature of the area is the fact that, should we run into adverse weather, Vortex and Morrison Springs are nearby, so we always have some place to dive.
