With its black volcanic sand, this area is known as the Frogfish Capital of the Philippines and is a standout destination for critter diving. To make the most of the experience, we’ll split our time between Atlantis Dumaguete Resort and the Infiniti liveaboard.

- Atlantis Dumaguete features 44 rooms set amid lush tropical gardens, along with a waterfront restaurant. Each room includes air conditioning, a minibar, toiletries, ceiling fan, hot water, cable TV with free movies, a safety deposit box, coffee and tea service, and Wi-Fi.
- The Infiniti is a 39-meter liveaboard offering 11 newly renovated, comfort-focused cabins. Each cabin has an en-suite bathroom with shower and either a large picture window or porthole. Freshly prepared meals and snacks are served in the indoor dining area.
The diving
Known as the frogfish capital of the Philippines, Dumaguete’s black volcanic sand beaches make it a premier destination for macro diving. Divers can explore sandy critter habitats, hard coral reefs, and a variety of artificial reefs — including cars and other structures.
From Dumaguete, access more than 20 coastal dive sites, the pristine reefs of Apo Island—home to over 400 coral species (about 65% of the world’s total)—the dramatic walls of Siquijor, and even snorkel with whale sharks in Oslob.
Trip dates
This itinerary is designed for comfort and optimal dive readiness. We arrive in Dumaguete on October 25, 2028, for a three-night stay before boarding the Infiniti liveaboard on October 28, allowing time for delayed luggage and recovery from jet lag. After eight days at sea, we return to Atlantis Dumaguete for four nights before flying home.
