Anse Chastenet St. Lucia
May 1-8, 2021
Considered by many to be the Caribbean’s most beautiful island, St. Lucia is home to volcanic beaches, reef diving sites, luxury resorts and fishing villages. Trails in the interior rain forest lead to waterfalls pouring over a cliff into a beautifully lush garden below.

The destination
Imagine yourself reclining on sandy white beaches, soaking in the volcanic mud baths of Soufrière, zip lining through lush rainforests, indulging in authentic island food, club-hopping on the Rodney Bay strip, and riding ATVs through the countryside. Envision exploring abandoned sugar plantations, snorkeling in crystal clear waters, chasing brightly colored fish in the shadow of the Pitons, or experiencing a live sea turtle hatching in the last light of dusk. This is St. Lucia.
The resort
Anse Chastanet is St. Lucia’s only resort property with an iconic view of both the Piti and Gros Piton mountains. Located on a private estate of 600 lush tropical acres, it borders on two soft-sand Caribbean beaches with pristine coral reefs just offshore.
You’ll find a dozen rooms tucked in behind the coconut palms that line the beach and tiptoe up a flower decked hillside. To make the most of the panoramic views and the refreshing trade winds, octagonal whitewashed cottages come with wraparound flower-draped balconies and louvered windows.
The diving
The Anse Chastanet reef starts just 10 yards beyond the water’s edge. It offers an amazing profusion of tropical marine life in 20 to 140 feet of calm, clear water. The reef is home to more than 150 different species of fish. Keep your eyes open for peacock flounders, octopus, needle fish and turtles. Drop down a little deeper over dense coral growth to see puffers, moray eels, parrot fish, lobsters and even sea horses.
