Anthony’s Key, Roatan

June 13-20, 2009

For over 30 years, Anthony’s Key has epitomized the modern dive resort. It remains on the cutting edge, offering guests a host of opportunities, including dolphin encounters. Visiting this exotic getaway is a must for any serious dive traveler.

Tube Sponge

Perhaps no island in the Caribbean offers more distinctive or easily accessible dive sites than Roatan. Situated on the world’s second largest barrier reef, the islands reefs and drop-offs are teeming with colorful marine life and are ideally suited for novices and experts alike.

Coral grows thickly on walls that begin in crystalline waters as shallow as 10 feet deep and drop to the purple depths of the Caribbean. Squadrons of eagle ray, schools of brightly colored tropical fish, the occasional meandering shark and eel gardens are just a few of the sites that delight divers. In addition to diving, there are:

Anthony’s Key
  • Dolphin encounters.
  • Horse back riding.
  • Relaxation.
  • Truly assume sunsets.
Sunset

Our group will be staying at Anthony’s Key Resort, located on the island of Roatan. The resort is reminiscent of an island village with cabanas nestled among the trees out on the tiny island several hundred yards from the main resort. You will be transported by boat to and from the main resort where the dive shop, restaurant and bar where you can enjoy the sunsets.

Our guest will enjoy double occupancy, superior rooms located on or over the water’s edge, complete with air conditioning, hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Anthony's Key

At the center of Anthony’s Key is a 30 x 60-swimming pool, hidden among towering palms and a short walk from stilted bungalows on the perimeter of the secluded eight acre island. It is perfect for relaxing after a day’s adventures. Guests can hop out for a cold drink or snack from the new bar and grill.

Active guests can also participate in sea kayaking and canoeing, volleyball and horseback riding. Of course if all this gets to be too much, lazing in a hammock, one of the resort’s more popular activities, is always an option! Additionally included in all packages, AKR offers excursions to remote islands such as Barbaretta and Cayos Cochinos, deep sea fishing and dolphin and shark combo dives.

Coral

In addition, you can join trained naturalists across the lagoon on Bailey’s Key to interact with playful dolphins and observe some of the island’s indigenous plants and animals along the key’s nature trail.

Space on this trip is limited and likely to fill fast. For more information, or to sign up, call or visit Harry’s Dive Shop.
