Wakatobi, Sulawasi, Indonesia

October 1-10, 2010

(Waiting List Only) Wakatobi Dive Resort is a destination where you can dive the world’s most pristine reefs and experience remoteness from everyday life in total comfort. Situated on a beautiful tropical island in the remote and peaceful Wakatobi archipelago in the Banda Sea, Indonesia, Wakatobi offers what many consider to be the best reef diving in the world.

Coral

Blessed with a house reef where you can begin your dive only 60 feet from the dive center, Wakatobi is often described as a live aboard with a built-in beach! In addition to the spectacular house reef, there are several dozens of easily accessible dive sites offering incredible marine life diversity, color and natural splendor.

Biodiversity is a measure of the variety of species that can be found in an ecosystem. Wakatobi is located in an area that encompasses the highest coral reef biodiversity in the world.

Clowfish

What does that mean for the average diver? It simply means that at Wakatobi will have the greatest opportunity to see the greatest variety and diversity of marine life. While diving at Wakatobi, you’ll not only see beautiful vistas or pristine coral reefs, but also abundant colorful reef fish and rare and unusual cryptic “critters.” New undocumented species are being discovered at Wakatobi.

Snorkeler

There are other areas of the world where you can see larger schools of fish, bigger animals and experience more adrenaline-filled underwater “rides,” but for shear reef scenery and marine life variety, you won’t be disappointed with a diving holiday at Wakatobi.

Gorgonian

The entire Wakatobi region has been turned into a sustainable protected marine park. The local village and surrounding communities have “bought in” to the conservation plan and as a result, illegal fishing, reef walking and other activities detrimental to the coral reef have been halted. Part of your payment for staying and diving at Wakatobi goes back to the community to sustain and support this new way of living. Living in harmony and in respect of the coral reef ecosystem.

Beach

The intimate, eco-friendly resort is situated on a small island locally called Onemobaa. Our island is beside Tomia Island, one of four major islands covering an area of over 300 square miles. The beautiful resort is built directly at the seaside, with all bungalows spaced along our exquisite beach.

Balcony

Over the years Wakatobi has grown from being a simple, remote outpost to a fully equipped resort offering comforts otherwise not associated with the best diving. Often you have to choose between comforts and diving quality.

Bedroom

All accommodations are spacious and available with either a king-size bed, and/or twin beds to sleep up to three adults or two adults and two children. All of our accommodations have a balcony in front as well as lounge chairs, tables and other furnishings. There a desk with internet access, a mini-bar, and much more. All bungalows and villas are equipped with air conditioning.

Space on this trip is limited; call or visit for more info.
