El Ocotal, Costa Rica

December 5-12, 2009

Costa Rica

Costa Rica not only provides the opportunity to experience the large aquatic animals and abundant schools of fish unique to the Pacific coast of Central America, it is also a place where you can hike unspoiled jungles, zip line through the rainforest, ride the rapids and a whole lot more.

Pool

Ocotal is a four-star beachfront resort and a leader among Costa Rica’s hotel and resort destinations, known for its outstanding style, comfort and service. The property lies along the country’s beautiful Northern Pacific coastline and yields breathtaking panoramic views of the Papagayo Gulf.

Room

Each room at Ocotal has an amazing ocean view, air conditioning, cable TV, telephone, coffee maker, safety deposit box, hair dryer and a private terrace or balcony. Playa Ocotal is a calm, sandy beach, about a third of a mile long; it’s ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and other outdoor activities. It’s also a perfect place to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Fish

Experience the ultimate diving adventure, at one of the best resorts, with massive schools of fish, rays, jacks, whale sharks, giant mantas, sea turtles, bull sharks, white tip sharks, dolphins and more at this Gold Palm Resort inside this beautiful tropical country. Daily dive trips to Catalinas and Bat Islands. Night dives available upon request. Dive Shop on the beach. Fleet of five 32-foot, diesel-powered dive boats with showers and camera tanks. Dive staff carries, loads, sets up, rinses and stores your gear after each dive. Dive shop, beach and dive boats only steps from your beachfront room. El Ocotal owns and operates the resort, the dive shop and the boats.

Dive Boat

After five nights at El Ocotal, our trip is far from over. We go next to the Arenal Volcano Lodge, where we enjoy dinner at the Eco Thermals at Tabacon Hot Springs. The next day you take part in either a Sky Trek canopy or whitewater rafting excursion. Then we go to San Jose where we spend the night at the Double Tree Cariari before flying home.

Space on this trip is limited and likely to fill fast. For more information, or to sign up, call or visit Harry’s Dive Shop.
