Accelerated Weekend Courses

This accelerated course is action-packed and very demanding of your time and attention. You must be comfortable with mask, snorkel and fins before enrolling in this program. Because of the schedule, there is little time to acclimate to getting water in the face.

You must have read the book, watched the DVD, and completed all of the end-of-chapter study guides prior to the start of class on Friday evening.

The schedule is as follows:

• Friday Evening, 6:30-10:30: Discuss schedule, watch Risk Awareness DVD, fill out and sign paperwork, and demonstrate individual skills. This is also where we introduce the use of scuba equipment in the water.
• Saturday, 9:00-5:00: Briefly go through the book, discuss and answer any questions, then adjourn to the pool for snorkeling and scuba skills.
• Sunday, 9:00-5:00: Complete water skills begun Saturday, review for and take written test provided all paperwork is turned in.

Because of the accelerated schedule, weekend students are invited to come to other scheduled pool nights at no additional charge — with advance notice. 2012 starting dates include:
