When Can I Start?

When?

Strictly speaking, you can start whenever you want. With our modern learning materials, it can be as soon as you come into Harry’s Dive Shop and pick up your self-study materials.

Completing Self Study

Plan on taking approximately eight to twelve hours to complete all self-study materials. If taking the accelerated course, you must complete all these prior to your first academic review and skill development session.

Obviously, you do not want to schedule your academic review and skill development sessions, then put off studying until the last minute.

Academic Review/Skill Development Options

You have three choices here. These are:

Private/Semi-Private Lessons

With private or semi-private lessons, you make your own schedule. This is something we are able to do because of the flexibility afforded by having our own pool on premises. We can work out scheduling details when you sign up.

Figure on on roughly four, four-hours sessions. This is in contrast to the 24 hours that group classes normally take. We don’t cover any less in private classes (or demand any less from our students). It is just that, when working with small groups, we can use time more efficiently.

With groups of six or more, the private/semi-private rate drops from $699/person to $499/person. (Everyone in the group must attend all sessions together.)

Available Open-Water Training Weekends for 2009-2010

Following classroom and pool training, you will need to complete two days of open-water training. 2010 dates include:

  • September 18-19
  • October 16-17
  • November 13-14
