SSi Training Progression

SSI’s training progression is based on what you learn by taking various Specialty Diver and other courses and what you learn from making actual dives.

Specialty Diver

Prerequisites: To earn this rating:

• Meet the requirements for the Open Water Diver rating.
• Successfully complete at least two Specialty Diver courses.
• Log eight more dives.

Advanced Diver

Prerequisites: To earn this rating:

• Qualify for the Specialty Diver rating.
• Successfully complete at least four Specialty Diver courses.
• Log twelve more dives.

Master Diver

Prerequisites: To earn this rating:

• Qualify for the Advanced Diver rating.
• Successfully complete at least four Specialty Diver courses, as well as Diver Stress and Rescue.
• Log 26 more dives.

Learn and Win! If you become a Master Diver within a year of becoming certified, you are automatically entered into a drawing at SSI. The Grand Prize is a Caribbean vacation! So start learning and who knows what may happen.
