Deep and Wreck
This course combines training in two activities that, in our area, seem to go hand in hand.
Deep Diving: Any time you exceed a depth of 60 feet, you are making what experts consider to be a deep dive. Deep dives entail risks and hazards that are not present on shallow-water dives. They require specialized planning and emergency procedures. The are something for which no beginning scuba course can adequately prepare you.
To better prepare you for the rewards deeper diving offers (such as access to some of the best wrecks), this course not only covers planning and procedures, but also equipment and opportunities.
Wreck Diving: The wrecks of the Gulf coast draw divers from all over the world. We are fortunate enough to live within an easy drive. The bottom line? If you are going to dive this area, you are going to dive wrecks.
There is more to wreck diving, however, than just being a tourist. Wrecks pose some unique risks and hazards you need to understand how to avoid. And, if you really want to get the most from diving a wreck, you need to know how to unearth its history and heritage.
